--------

I'll tell you firstly about oiur trip down. It was a seven and a hlaf hour car journey, including two stops and a serious rain downpour as we were coming in on the George Washington Memorial Parkway! It was 400 miles and we found our way pretty well thanks to GPS and google maps!

One problem I have is that I've taken many photos but I haven't brought my cable to connect my camera to the computer so you'll have to wait until Tuesday (Univesity is closed Monday for Independance Day) before you get to see the great photos and videos!!

It was sunny and lovely today, I'll give you a quick runthrough of the day so you can get a feel for the festival!

The fesitval, like the Smithsonian Museums opened at 11am, but we got there about 10.30am and looked around. We Found Menna Morgan of the National Library in the Welsh Roots tent. Jeanne was doing a talk and story thing with David Ambrose (who has an amazing voice) at 12.30 which was really good.

Then we had food and watched Siân James performing with her little harp. She was fantastic, and some of her songs were just magical. She was in the tent called 'the rugby club'. We then meandered over to 'the red dragon' tent to get ready to see Only Men Aloud!, but before they were on we saw the end of Crasdant - who had a telyn deires on stage being played, which is a harp with three strings for each one on a normal harp! Then Only men Aloud! were fantastic, sounding extremely good and looking and dancing great. I got a good video of a lovely version of 'The Pearl Fishers' Duet' that they did, as well as many other videos and photos.

We walked around a little more and I met Catrin Brace who works for the Assembly in New York, and met some people I knew which was nice! Saw Anueurin Karadog rapping - which was a new and bizzare experoience for Jeanne and Lauren (a student in Rio Grande who's been working on projects with Jeanne in the Center and in the Museum recently).

Not much more to say except I must go wash my feet and I'm quite hungry and we're off out for food soon. We plan to be in the festival by 11am tomorrow to watch the Hennesseys!!
